The Local Zip is run by Joseph Roach, a sole proprietor in Lebanon, Tennessee ("we," "us"). By using the site, posting an event or buying a plan, you agree to these terms.
Events on the site
- Events are posted by the people and businesses hosting them. We don't run, sponsor or guarantee any event unless we say so.
- Details like dates, times, prices and locations can change. Check with the host before you go.
- Going to an event is at your own risk. We aren't responsible for what happens at an event or for any dealings between you and a host or business.
Posting an event
- You must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian post for you.
- What you post must be accurate, and you must have the right to share it, including any photos, logos or flyers.
- Posts must follow our posting guidelines. We review posts and may edit them for length or clarity, decline them, or remove them at any time.
- You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to display it on the site, in the weekly roundup and on our social media pages to promote the event.
Accounts and profiles
- Accounts and profiles are free. You must be at least 18 to create one, and you're responsible for keeping your password private.
- Profiles are public. Don't put anything on yours you don't want neighbors to see, and only use names, logos and photos you have the right to use.
- Food truck stops you add to your profile appear in local search without review. Keep them accurate.
- We may remove profiles that break these terms or the posting guidelines. You can ask us to delete your account anytime through Support.
Reviews and likes
- Reviews must reflect your own honest experience. Don't review your own business, a competitor, or a business you work for, and don't offer or accept anything in exchange for a review.
- One review per member per profile. You can edit or delete your own review anytime.
- We remove reviews only when they break the posting guidelines, for example spam, hate, harassment, private information, or fake reviews. We never remove honest reviews because they're negative, and paying for a plan has no effect on reviews.
- Likes and dislikes show what neighbors think of an event. One vote per member per event.
Paid plans
- Business and Premium plans are billed monthly through Stripe, starting the day you sign up, and renew automatically each month until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime from the Manage your plan page or by contacting us. Your plan stays active through the end of the month you've paid for. We don't give partial refunds for unused days.
- Designed posts included with Premium reset each month. Unused ones roll over for one month, then expire. They have no cash value.
- We'll give at least 30 days' notice before changing the price of a plan you're on.
Custom designed posts
- Send event details at least 3 business days before the event. Requests with less notice carry a $15 rush fee, if we can fit them in.
- Each designed post includes two rounds of changes. More changes may cost extra.
- Payment is taken through Stripe when you submit your request. We don't see or store your full card number.
- Approval: we email you a link to preview the design. Nothing is posted until you approve it.
- Refunds: if you decline the final design, or cancel before we send a preview, we refund the full $45 to your card. Once you approve a design, the post is non-refundable.
- If you don't respond to a preview within 14 days, or the event date passes, we'll cancel the order and refund you.
- Once paid for, the finished graphic is yours to use for promoting your business or event. We may show it as an example of our work.
What you can't do
- Post false, misleading or spam events.
- Copy the site's content in bulk, scrape it, or use it to build a competing listing.
- Try to break, overload or get around the site's security.
Links to other sites
Posts may link to other websites. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for them.
No guarantees
The site is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, or that a plan will bring a set number of views or customers.
Limit of responsibility
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or unexpected losses from using the site. If we are found responsible for something, the most we'll owe is what you paid us in the 3 months before the problem.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date below. Using the site after an update means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee.
